Lifeguards in Brighton Beach Testing Out Dolphin1

Lifeguards in Brighton Beach are trialing a new remote-controlled buoy, the Dolphin 1, which enables them to save lives without setting foot in the water.
The new device has been deployed following a series of tragedies along the south coast.
And the device was put into action for the first time at the weekend, saving a kitesurfer who had got into difficulties off the Brighton coastline.
“We can deploy the Dolphin I into the sea without actually putting any of our rescuers in any danger. It’s going to increase the amount of people we can save from drowning, and it provides a few vital moments before the emergency service get there.” Said Louise Roberts, a member of Brighton Beach Control.
